Set in a remote valley of Rangamati in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Ubogeet: The Unsung Tale and Song follows six Chakma folk song practitioners — Anundibala Chakma, Godabi Chakma, Indu Chakma, Gunobala Chakma, Jalodhar Chakma, and Bimol Chakma. The film presents an intimate portrait of their daily lives, memories, and the enduring bond between community and song. It portrays a cultural tradition on the brink of disappearance, where folk songs serve as vessels of resilience, identity, and collective memory, carrying ancestral truths across generations even as their keepers struggle to preserve them.
An amalgamation of stories unfolds in a city where the rhythms of hope clash with the dissonance of despair, weaving a musical tapestry of strangers from forgotten lands and times whose dreams for a better life dissolve into a surreal journey through uncertainty, memory, and survival.
